My husband and I went to Houston for a week right after Christmas to visit his family. One night my sister-in-law and I went for a drive in the River Oaks community to view the Christmas lights and this is what we saw. Unbelievable. Fantastic. Beautiful.
These hugh oak trees are entirely wrapped in white lights. Then, multiple strings of lights are hung straight down all along each branch. They looked like willow trees. So many lights! One house in particular had at least 20 of these trees on their property. I can't quite figure out how the wiring is done...must be multiple outlets running along each branch. I could never do this...not enough power. We can't even run a hair dryer if out Christmas lights are on!
Here's a close up. Isn't it pretty? What a gift to the community. My sister-in-law said she was driving by last week and the workers were taking down the lights and throwing them away. I guess it is cheaper than saving, sorting and storing them.
Bye for now
